Honouring Women’s Courage and Contribution
Our Story and Educational Mission

Yorkshire Land Girl began from a deep passion to showcase the remarkable efforts of women in the Women's Land Army during World War II. Through carefully crafted interpretations and engaging storytelling, it brings to light their vital role in keeping Britain’s agricultural heart beating during the war, educating and inspiring communities across the UK and beyond.

A Unique Approach

Yorkshire Land Girl’s accurate portrayals at events are designed to enrich understanding of women’s wartime contributions.
Participants are encouraged to view and handle the artefacts, objects and documents, bringing a connection with the past.
At events, Yorkshire Land Girl literally takes the story to the public, in a roving role, engaging at every opportunity.
Yorkshire Land Girl is proud to work with the Premier Living History Events and Heritage Destinations, across the country

Tractors

Tractors, particularly their increased proliferation during the war, led to staggering increases in productivity.
